Be a Patelian for a day
This is a few hour story that happened at IIT Kharagpur on 21 st october,2006 on the day of Dipawali,and may be that the story will remain unknown to the people forever.Still the people who were eye witness in the whole story they will remember it and will get to know the defination of “Tempo” in IIT Kharagpur lingo.
On the day of Diwali,IIT Kharagpur Cellebrates its own Inter Hall competition known as Illumination and Rangoli.People from every hall decorate their hall using oil lamps “Diyas” in such way so that a theme is created.Basically every hall wants to decorate their hall to their best level so as to get the “Matki” Prize given by IIT KLharagpur Gymkhana.In BTech halls the work is mainly done by 2nd yrs controlled by theirs seniors.They work with their full Tempo.15 days and nights finally creates the Illumination event.In other halls work goes on but not like BTech halls.
Now there is a General Tradition in IIT Kharagpur that No other hall is allowed to enter the PAN loop(Consisting of Patel,Azad,Neheru).So no other BTech halls who once tried this in past and got beated off dare to try it now.
In this years Illumination and Rangoli event everybody from every hall expected that Patel is going to win the Gold medal in Rangoli.But due to some reasons which i should not write here(i think you understand)Patel even didn’t got the consolation prize.Even No Prize was given to any hall in PAN loop.What ever be.We had to accept it.After all it is IIT where “Long live Revolution” has no place.
After Prize Distribution was over for continueing our tradition we stood near the gate of PAN loop so that no other hall enters the PAN loop.All the 2nd years were very depressed after the result.Their night outs and hard work got no value.But as a Senior we should encourage the 2nd years for other events.After all we are for their care.If we will not care for them who will then care for them.If we have taken their OP(Orientation Programme [:)]) we should also care for them.Even some 2nd years were crying after the result.After waiting a lot no other hall came.We told the 2nd years “bahat kam kiye ho,itna load mat lena,Humhare
aur bhi bahat saare events baaki hai jitne ke liye,abhi sab lok so jao”.I was 1 PM then.Every 2nd years went to sleep.We few 3rd years were discussing about why all these happened.In the mean time VidyaSagar hall(Non BTech hall) who won the 1st Prize in Rangolicame near the entrance of PAN loop.Some Patelians who were standing there refused to late them enter PAN loop.there was a chaos there.In that Chaos VidyaSagar Hall lost the jar of Rasgollas which fell to the ground.Now there was a good fight between those Patelians and them.Even there were some 2nd years in that also.When we got to know that some chaos is occurring there we at first called the 2nd years to come out of their room.I shouted with such a loud voice ,I will remember it.with me there were 3r years also who shouted especially MAndal.However our 2nd years came out of their rooms instantly.Some ran away towards the gate just wearing the shirt on the way,and some was just running as something happened somewhere.We got to know that one 2nd year got injured in the chaos.We went their to fight with the VSites(VS=VidyaSagar)But the 2nd years were in so much Tempo even we the 3rd years had to call them back.else they could have done anything.And After all a DC(Disiplinary Committie)in IIT is enough to make a student’s life Hell.2nd years were uncontrolable.still we made them come back.In the chaos many VS ites got injured.But they finally went away.We drove them away.Then we came to the place where we broke the “Matki” of Rasgollas near the entry of PAN loop.We belive that for PAN loop this was the Prize.PAN loop deserves this.Now every 2nd years were happy again.”Yes we have got something,Kiska aukad hai ke Patel ke Samne Tempo shout de”.uske baad ho gaya ekbaar Patel ka Tempo shout “PAAAATEL ka TEMPOOOO highEEEE hai,PAAAATEL ka TEMPOOOO highEEEE hai,PAAAAAAATEL ka TEMPOOOO highEEEE hai,PAAAAAAATEL ka TEMPOOOO highEEEE hai,PATEL ka Tempo high hai,PATEL,PATEL(clap clap),PATEL,PATEL(clap clap),YO PATEL.Mandalda to bahat ro rahe the na…aab wo bhi khush.aur mai bhi.
